honestly, what did people do before the web?

i like it when i open the main page of wikipedia, see a link for winter election in Canada and there's a pretty damn good chronology right there... laughing this week at the very idea of a longitundinal survey of internet use (what does one ask?)... and recognizing that it's actually faster to google when you know how than to navigate bad web-design.....
