The Guardian has been running something called "Operation Clark County" where they encourage Britons and other non-US citizens to write to undecided voters in Ohio to sway the vote. It started as something of a joke but with a point to make, and ended up snowballing on them.

Living with a number of Americans has made the election more prominent - although it is also a major item in the UK press (from my reading, seemingly less so in Canadian press - or at least Canadian reports are certainly less clearly partisan...hmmmm).
